Local organizations supporting women involved in domestic violence

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - International Women's Day is this Saturday.

Local organizations, including the Yuma County Victim Services Office, Campesinos Sin Fronteras, and the Mexican Consulate offer crucial support for local women involved in domestic violence.

Amberly's Place, the local non-profit, assisted nearly 3,104 victims in Yuma County who sought help this past year.

"Remember that the Mexican Consulate in Yuma is a safe zone, regardless of gender, identity, religion, or age. You are not alone—we are here for you. For any situation, we encourage you to come to the consulate so we can assist you," said Ana Maytorena, Protection and Assistance Department of the Mexican Consulate.

On International Women's Day, recognizing and supporting these resources is vital for those facing domestic violence.
