Three men detained after car they rented from was reported stolen

GLENDALE, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A popular car sharing app is now apologizing to three men after a car they rented from was reported stolen.

Jeff Addo and Kwab Asante told ABC15 in Phoenix they were detained by Glendale police officers outside of Raising Cane's last month.

The three men were released by the Glendale Police Department (GPD) after they shared verification of their Turo rental.

Turo apologized to the men, saying in part they "endured an awful experience that never should have happened," and are doing "everything possible to reinforce our safety and communication protocols with our hosts."
