Man in custody after trespassing on the railroad tracks

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Police Department (YPD) says they arrested a homeless man late Saturday morning.

YPD says the incident took place below the area of E. 16th Street and S. Redondo Center Drive at around 11:40 a.m. when an officer patrolling the area saw the man trespassing on the railroad tracks.

YPD also says the man was "found to be in possession of methamphetamine," and that the man attempted to "evade the officer."

Eventually, YPD says the man was apprehended and was taken into custody "without further incident."
