FedEx plane returns back to airport after reported bird strike
NEWARK, N.J. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A FedEx flight out of Newark Liberty International Airport was seen returning back to its point of origin on March 1, owing to an engine problem.
Various videos online showed flames on one wing of the aircraft, a Boeing 767-3S2F.
The flames were caused by a bird strike, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the New York Post said.
Separate video showed the plane had successfully landed, and was surrounded by firefighting crews.
Mike Bova, who recorded this video, said he saw "something fall off the plane" before the fire could be seen.
Storyful is seeking a statement from FedEx.
