Locals and winter visitors attend Day Two of the annual BBQ & Brew Festival
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of Yuma hosted the second and final day of the annual BBQ & Brew Festival Saturday.
The festival started at noon in Downtown Yuma. There was live music, with Morros del Garage being the festival's opening band, food and drink vendors, and more.
Chef Jonathan Palacio was also there to provide food and drinks to locals and winter visitors attending the annual festival, but his booth is for a good cause.
"So...we are doing a benefit for my mother. She's been going through something for 17 months. She's been going through a couple of rounds of chemotherapy. And...we're going to do a benefit so we can help her explore experimental therapy in this next chapter," Palacio shared.
At Chef Jonathan's booth, he is serving pit BBQ sandwiches, roasted potato salad, and fresh lemonade with chia seeds.
Chef Jonathan says he hopes to raise $35,000 to help his mother's ongoing battle with cancer.
The festival ends at 9:00 p.m.
