Desert Southwest continues with warmer conditions

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Warm and dry conditions will continue through the weekend across the Desert Southwest, with temperatures gradually rising into the lower 80s by Sunday.

A strong high-pressure system will settle over the region next week, pushing temperatures even higher and bringing unseasonably warm weather for mid-February.

By midweek, high temperatures across the lower deserts are expected to reach around 90 degrees, nearly 15 degrees above normal. Some areas, have a 50% chance of tying daily record highs from Wednesday through Friday. Skies will remain mostly clear, with only occasional high clouds moving through.

Winds will remain light, following typical patterns with westerly breezes in the afternoons. Conditions are expected to stay dry, with no significant weather disturbances impacting the region.

Looking ahead, a pattern shift is likely by next weekend as a low-pressure system approaches from the Pacific. This could bring slightly cooler temperatures and a small chance for precipitation, particularly in higher elevations. However, for now, the warm and dry trend looks to persist well into next week.
