Judge orders Idaho mother to remain in jail
Lori Vallow being held on $5-million bail
HONOLULU, Hi. (KYMA, KECY) - An Idaho mother whose two children have been missing for months will remain behind bars.
46-year-old Lori Vallow is being held on $5-million bail. Police in Hawaii arrested her Thursday on charges of deserting her children and obstructing law enforcement's attempts to find them.
Vallow's children, 17-year-old Tylee and 7-year-old JJ, haven't been seen since September of last year. The search for the kids began two months later after police in Idaho tried to conduct a welfare check on her son. He has special needs.
Police ordered her to produce the children by January 30. Vallow failed to do so. Officers aren't saying if they believe the children are still alive.
Vallow returns to court on March 2. That's when a judge will decide when authorities will take her back to Idaho to face charges there.
