Day 2 of the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire sees Israeli airstrike on Lebanon and scattered attacks

BEIRUT (AP) — The Israeli military says its warplanes have fired on southern Lebanon after detecting activity by the militant Hezbollah group at a rocket storage facility there. Thursday’s attack was first Israeli airstrike after a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah took hold. It came hours after the Israeli military said it fired on people trying to return to certain areas in southern Lebanon. Israel said they were violating the ceasefire agreement. Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency said two people were wounded. The agreement, brokered by the United States and France, includes an initial two-month ceasefire in which Hezbollah militants are to withdraw north of the Litani River and Israeli forces are to return to their side of the border.
