Weekend weather to clear up for several local events

YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)- Dry conditions will prevail through at least the weekend and possibly through much of next week ahead of multiple local events.

According to the National Weather Service, above normal temperatures will return by Friday and continue into the weekend as high pressure builds across the region.

The Yuma Proving Ground's Big 2020 open house event is this Saturday February 15, 2020.

Saturday's event will be at 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Foothills Boulevard will also be closed down for the annual Hank's Day parade also on Saturday.

The parade and barbecue that follows are a tribute to the founder of the Yuma Foothills.

Each year, the Yuma Foothills rotary hosts the event.

A slight cooling trend is then anticipated early next week as a low pressure system affects the desert southwest.
