FIRST ALERT ACTION DAY: Tracking rain and breeziness through Sunday

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Breezy to windy conditions took over throughout the day on Saturday, we had gusts over 40 MPH for both Yuma and El Centro.

Breezy conditions is still possible where some areas could easily peak over 30 MPH later this afternoon.

Yuma also set a new DAILY rainfall record of 0.22" last night. This breaks the previous daily of 0.08" set way back in 1992.

Yuma County received higher rain totals than Imperial County, but still, both counties received measurable rain. Take a look below.

A strong low-pressure system will continue to move through the area and is expected to bring more showers followed by a strong cold front with well below normal temperatures today.

Much of the Desert Southwest can expect light to moderate rainfall with some isolated thunderstorms being possible, which could lead to even heavy rainfall through Sunday.

That's why a First Alert ACTION DAY is still in effect, as this active weather pattern could bring flooding concerns to our area.

More rain and even thunderstorms is likely to join back in this afternoon and evening.

Rain accumulation is also possible right now, it's looking fairly light where totals could be a little over a tenth of an inch.

Bigger amounts are expected in thunderstorms, which isolated thunderstorms could be possible.

First Alert ACTION DAY is in effect for the rest of our Easter Sunday with lingering rain showers still being possible through Monday.
