WEATHER ALERT: Tracking widespread rainfall on this Monday for the Desert Southwest

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - NEW RAIN RECORD! Yuma has surpassed 1.00" of rainfall for the day with a total of 1.06".

This beat the previous daily record of 0.50" set all the way back in 1915.

We had some impressive rain totals for both Yuma and Imperial Counties from today's rain showers.

Take a look at the measurable rain that was recorded.

There are no weather alerts in effect as of now for the Desert Southwest, but flooding and travel issues will still be a concern.

Take extra caution and watch for flooded areas and drive slowly as roads will still be slippery.

Stronger westerly winds will increase winds heading into Tuesday where gusts 15-25 MPH will be possible.

Gustier and stronger winds will be further west.

Slight chance for showers will still be possible even tomorrow.

By the midweek, we welcome back drier conditions with temperatures in the 70s before a big warm-up arrives early next week.
