Labor bus transporting agricultural workers rolled over

UPDATE (4 P.M.) - The Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) sent out a press release with an update.

YCSO said they received a report of the collision Monday morning around 6:39 a.m. in the area of S. Avenue 37E and E. County 4th Street.

An agriculture labor bus which had 34 people inside was traveling on a field road.

Deputies said for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the bus and slid into the embankment which caused the bus to roll over and land on its side.

Multiple agencies responded and assisted with multiple passenger injuries and took them for medical treatment to Yuma area hospitals, said YCSO.

According to YCSO, 28 people were transported for non-life-threatening injuries.

This case is still under investigation.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision.

If you or anyone have any information about this case, contact YCSO at 928-783-4427 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous
