Local thrift store sells used costumes for Halloween

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Halloween costume waste is pretty scary.

According to Hubbub, about 80 percent of Halloween costumes use non-recyclable plastic which equals about 2,000 tons of plastic waste.

One local thrift store, My Kids Closet, is selling used Halloween costumes that are sustainable and budget-friendly.

The owner, Stephanie Vega, said they accept costumes year-round.

Starting Wednesday, October 25 until November 4, they will be offering $10 in-store credit for anyone who comes in to donate Halloween costumes with all the pieces that came with it.
