Tropical Storm Hilary damage in Yuma County

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma County saw the effects of Tropical Storm Hilary this past weekend which brought rain, gusty winds, and some flooding.

Damage can be seen all throughout Yuma County including fallen trees and roof damage.

The Yuma County Emergency Management Director reflects on how the community did in response to the tropical storm.

“First I would like to thank all the community members, the citizens in Yuma County that prepared, that got sand bags, they cleared their areas, they stayed home. We did a good job, when I say we I mean all the first responders, the community our non-government organizations, those non-profits out there,” said Tony Badilla, Yuma County Emergency Management Director.

Even though the storm has passed, it's important to always stay prepared for any storms that may be coming.
