RV caught on fire in the Foothills

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Six locals are now without a home after the RV they were living in went up in flames and there are injuries reported.

The fire happened on Paula Avenue and 37th Street in the Foothills Wednesday morning.

Rural Metro said there were also four pets who lived in the fifth-wheeler.

But the fire also destroyed a truck and a van along with some Palm Trees.

“The call went out at around 9:39 report of a pick up on fire and a travel trailer starting to catch on fire. Upon our arrival our first truck did find a travel trailer on fire, they found the pickup on fire and then they also found a small trailer that was hooked to the pickup on fire," said Jeff Woodruff, Rural Metro Fire Battalion Chief.

Valeria Rodriguez got to talk to one of the people who lives on the same lot and wished to remain anonymous.

But spoke to us about what he did when he saw the fire from his workplace nearby.

“I ran over here and I noticed that the first trailer was engulfed in flames and I had to run through the property to alert my lady she was unaware of the fire," said the RV resident.

Besides this tragedy happening, he stays positive.

“Everyone got out safely, and I suffered a few minor blisters but other than that God was on our side,” stated the RV resident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
