FIRST ALERT FORECAST: More chances at storms for Yuma as the Imperial Valley reaches 120 degrees

KYMA

Very hot conditions are coming for the Desert Southwest along with increasing storm chances

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The well-documented record heat wave will continue across the region through this week and likely beyond as an Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect through Friday evening.

Persistent high pressure will continue to allow high and low temperatures to be within a couple of degrees of daily record temperatures through this week.

Thunderstorm potential is anticipated to trend upward over the weekend across portions of Arizona but will favor the higher terrain areas through the rest of the week.

Above normal temperatures will continue.
