Hot temperatures can cause burns on playgrounds
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The summer is here, which means school is out! With these high temperatures, it may be hard to let your little ones enjoy the playground.
It is always best to learn how to avoid burns while still letting your child have a fun time outside.
City of Yuma Fire Department Fire Inspector Robert Rillamas shared that children can get burned starting at 70 degrees and playground sets have been recorded up to 189 degrees at this time of year.
Even shaded playgrounds can get really hot and should always be checked if too hot before letting your kids play.
A great tip is, if it is too hot for your hand, it is too hot for them.
