Sonora: Coronavirus recoveries on the rise

HERMOSILLO, Sonora (KYMA, KECY)-Health officials in Sonora confirm 295 cases along with 30 new deaths.

Out of the 295 new cases added statewide, San Luis Rio Colorado had nine followed by one death.

Sonora continues to be at the 'orange light' despite rising cases and deaths. The Secretary of Health for the state in Sonora, Enrique Clausen, says, "The spike in infections also affects health personnel, who have been working at their maximum capacity for months."

Sonora stands with 15,676 COVID-19 cases and 1,524 deaths. Health officials say 11,295 patients have recovered from the virus.

On Monday, the Secretary of Health in Sonora says it went from red traffic light to orange, meaning some economic activities return. In a video conference on Monday, the Governor of Sonora Claudia Pavlovich reminds the community not to let their guard down as the economy reactivates in the state, "Let's take this orange traffic light with caution so that what has happened in other states does not happen in orange they have returned to red, that is to say, the story of never-ending."
