WEATHER ALERT: Tracking impacts from Hurricane Hilary for the Desert Southwest
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Hurricane Hilary rapidly intensified to a Category 4 early Friday morning with sustained winds of 145 MPH.
Hilary has made landfall over the northern Baja California Peninsula as a tropical storm.

A Tropical Storm WARNING is still in effect for southwest California until Monday for strong wind with gusts in excess of 60 MPH.
A few Areal Flood Advisories remain in effect until midnight for southeastern California.
A Flood Watch is in effect until Monday for the entire Desert Southwest due to excessive run-off from the heavy rain fall the past couple of days.
Excessive runoff is likely especially rivers, streams and low-lying areas.
