FIRST ALERT ACTION DAY: Tracking temperatures firmly into the triple-digits through weekend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - Our Weather Authority First Alert Action Day continues through Thursday, as we are still tracking multiple Extreme Heat Warnings across our region.

High temperatures in Yuma are tracking to reach 112°F and El Centro is expected to hit 116°F. The Extreme Heat Warning in Yuma County is expected to end Thursday evening around 8 p.m.

While the warning in Imperial County has been extended through Friday evening, high temperatures for Friday are tracking to reach 114°F.

The City of Yuma will be feeling the heat, with the high temperature tracking to reach 111°F.

As we switch our focus to the wind speeds we are tracking, winds are expected be pretty moderate over the next several days.

On Thursday at 6 p.m., we are tracking wind gusts in the 21-25 mile per hour range in both Yuma and Imperial Counties.

By Friday morning around 7:30 a.m., winds will be 6-7 miles per hour in Imperial County while Yuma County is seeing gusts in the 17-18 mile per hour range.

Into the evening hours on Friday, around 5:30 p.m., gusts will get back to that similar range we should see Thursday evening.

While temperatures remain our main focus, we are also keeping an eye on those moderate winds and some moisture that is moving into our region.

We are seeing dew points in Yuma County ranging between 55-63 degrees over the next several days, making it feel a bit warmer outside on top of those triple-digit temps.

Imperial County will get into the 60 degree dew points as well on Friday morning, but are tracking to stay pretty seasonable and dry outside of that.
