Tracking triple-digit temperatures with summer right around the corner

Weather Authority / KYMA

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - After cool to moderate temperatures this past week, the first week of June brings triple-digit temperatures once again.

In Yuma, high temps are sitting at 99°F Sunday while in the Imperial Valley, temperatures have already broke 100°F, sitting at highs of 101°F.

As for Monday, we should see triple-digits across the board for the remainder of the work week. In Yuma, high temperatures are tracking 103°F.

The Imperial Valley will experience similar temps as well. El Centro is tracking highs of 102°F.

Compared to earlier this week when we had some wind advisories and air quality alerts, we have had a calm weekend with wind gusts staying in the single digits a majority of the time.

That trend is tracking to continue until Monday evening, where at 5:30 p.m. we will experience some gusts coming from the South.

El Centro winds should get up to 21 miles per hour and Yuma winds are tracking in the 15-16 mile per hour range.

Although there are no more air quality alerts, we are still tracking moderate air quality conditions all across the board in both Yuma County and the Imperial Valley.

There will be plenty of sunshine this week, but be careful staying outside for extended periods of time with triple-digit temperatures looming.

In Yuma, we're tracking a drop-off in temperatures by next weekend. Not by much, but we should see high 90s once again by Saturday, Sunday and Monday next week.

The Imperial Valley should see a similar drop-off, but that will happen on Sunday and Monday next week.
