Temperatures maxing out Sunday for near future

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - After originally tracking temperatures peaking in the upper 90s Sunday, Yuma did not exceed its March 1 record of 93°F.
However, the City of El Centro has a new temperature high for today's date. They reached 94°F Sunday, topping the previous record of 91°F set in 2016, according to National Weather Service (NWS).
There shouldn't be too much competition with the current records for dates ranging over the next week.
Max temperatures will drop into the high 80s for the next few days, and as is currently being tracked, we can anticipate the low 80s to be the target area for the back-half of the work week and into next weekend.
Wind gusts in the Valley are consistently in the low teens Sunday, while Yuma County is seeing lighter breezes.
On Monday, heavier winds will carry eastbound through Imperial County and make their way into Arizona around noon.
There is a possibility for these gusts to exceed 20 mph in the entire region, but most likely in the Imperial Valley.
Tuesday will see some more prominent winds, as well, similar to what we are tracking for Monday.
Other than that, the sunshine should be glaring for the vast majority of the work week.
