Tracking a seasonable and humid start to fall with warmer days ahead
It was a wet start to our Monday morning, but now I am finally tracking a brief warming and drying trend through the middle of the week.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - We had some light showers on Sunday morning and again this morning. Showers yesterday were light, where areas received a TRACE amount of rainfall, which means too little to measure.
During our overnight and morning hours today, some areas, including Yuma and Imperial Counties, received measurable rainfall. It is very small amounts, but it is something. Take a look.

Happy First Day of Fall! The Fall Equinox kicked off Monday morning.
The Fall Equinox is when the Earth's axis is tilted neither toward nor away from the sun, resulting in a "nearly" equal amount of daylight and darkness at all latitudes.
The word "equinox" comes from the Latin words "aequalis" and "nox," meaning "equal night."
For us, this means we have cooler temperatures on the way, later sunrises, and earlier sunsets.

For our first evening of the fall season, we will have clearer skies than Monday morning, with calmer winds, and cooler, but humid conditions.
Still going to be nice weather to go fall shopping and have a pumpkin spice latte. Enjoy!

Finally, tracking drier conditions, but it will come with a warm-up for the next couple of days. We will have daytime highs rise into the low 100s and trend slightly above-normal for the fall season.
Overnight lows will be fantastic as we will have lows in the mid and 70s all week.
Temperatures will cool closer to average or slightly below normal later this week with possible rain chances.
