Temperatures stay near normal before cooling later this week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Temperatures will stay close to normal through midweek, keeping the lower deserts in a moderate heat tisk range.

Highs Tuesday will hover between 102 and 106 degrees in the hotter spots, but a cool down is coming soon.

By Wednesday, breezy conditions will spread across the region as a Pacific storm system passes to the north, dropping highs in parts of Imperial and Yuma Counties below 100 degrees. Winds could gust around 20 to 25 miles per hour at times, especially in Imperial Valley.

The rest of the week will bring slightly cooler afternoons, with highs settling into the mid to upper 90s by Thursday and continuing into the weekend.

Overnight lows will also trend lower, dipping into the 60s for Imperial County and into the 70s across Yuma.

Rain chances will remain very limited. A few isolated storms could pop up over eastern Arizona midweek, but Yuma and Imperial Counties are expected to stay dry.
