A First Alert Action Day is in effect Monday until Tuesday as we encounter extreme heat across the viewing area.

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for Monday and extending into Tuesday evening.

This means dangerously hot conditions across the area with afternoon temperatures ranging from 110 to 116 degrees.

This is a major heat risk with overexposure leading to possible heat cramps and heat exhaustion which can both lead to heat stroke.

First Alert Action Days remind you to take action by implementing extra precautions if you work or spend time outside.

When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
