Sunny skies and warmer days ahead for Yuma and Imperial Counties

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - After a brief round of windy and cooler weather, calmer conditions are moving in across Yuma and Imperial Counties this weekend.

Saturday will stay a little cooler than normal, with high temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s. This is thanks to a storm system that moved through Friday, bringing gusty winds and a few spotty showers to the region. But that system is now pushing east into New Mexico, leaving behind clear skies and drier air.

Starting Sunday, temperatures will begin to warm back up. Expect highs to rebound into the mid to upper 80s, right around what's typical for this time of year.

By Monday and through most of next week, daytime temps are expected to reach the upper 80s to low 90s, with sunny skies sticking around.

Longer-range forecasts show another weather system may approach the West Coast late next week, but it's still too early to tell how much it will impact our area. If it moves close enough, it could bring some breezy winds or slightly cooler temperatures next weekend.

But for now, residents can look forward to a stretch of classic spring weather: Warm, dry, and perfect for outdoor plans.
