Warm and dry conditions persist in the Desert Southwest

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The desert heat is making an early appearance as high pressure continues to dominate the region.

Yuma and Imperial Counties can expect warm and dry conditions through next week, with temperatures running well above normal.

This weekend, highs will climb four to eight degrees above average, with occasional high clouds moving through the area.

By early next week, the ridge of high pressure will strengthen, potentially pushing temperatures near record-breaking levels. Tuesday is expected to be the hottest day, with some lower desert areas having a chance of hitting 100 degrees.

By midweek, a weak system will help bring slight relief, but temperatures will still remain warmer than usual. Despite these changes, the forecast remains dry with no signs of rain.

Stay hydrated and take precautions in the heat as we head into an unseasonably warm stretch of weather.
