Warm start to the week before winds bring a cooldown
Breezy conditions Monday night could lead to blowing dust and a brief temperature drop
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Desert Southwest will enjoy warm and mostly tranquil weather to start the week.
For Sunday afternoon, temperatures will reach a high of 79 degrees under mostly sunny skies, with light south winds.
For Sunday night, skies turn mostly cloudy, and temperatures drop to 56 degrees with calm winds. Monday will see a mix of clouds and sunshine before clearing in the afternoon, with highs warming to 82 degrees. Winds will stay light early but could gust up to 20 mph by the afternoon.
By Monday night, a weather system will bring breezy conditions, with west winds increasing to 15-20 mph and gusts reaching up to 35 mph. Patchy blowing dust is possible between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m., reducing visibility in some areas.
This system will also bring cooler temperatures for Tuesday, dipping highs back into the 70s before a warming trend returns later in the week.
