News 11 Weather Authority: Heat low point

June 14th, 2022

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Considering the latest heat wave to hit the Desert Southwest, we hit a heat low point on Tuesday.

Daytime high mercury numbers peaked anywhere from 101 to 105 degrees; as 103 is the average high temperature for this time of year.

The heat will rise over the course of the next couple of days, as another ridge of high pressure begins to build in the Interior West.

Most of our area will get it's 2nd round of excessive heat this coming Thursday, with mercury numbers expected to land from 107 to 113 degrees by then.
