News 11 Weather Authority: Doorstep to excessive heat

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - As our desert heat continues it's rise, we are now on the cusp of our 1st episode of excessive heat for the Summer season.

Our overall spectrum of daytime high temperatures have risen to the realm of 105 to 108 degrees on this Wednesday.

As a tandem of high pressure ridges continue to develop, we'll see our high end mercury numbers surge from 113 to 118 degrees by the time we reach the upcoming weekend.

The Excessive Heat Warning is projected to run from 10 am on Thursday to 8 pm on Sunday.
