News 11 Weather Authority: March towards excessive heat

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The 1st full week of the month of June promises to be an eventful one in regards to the heat.

We'll likely be dealing with a pair of high pressure ridge's that will lift our mercury to it's highest levels of 2022, with near record highs possible.

For the 1st time this calendar year, the National Weather Service is projecting an Excessive Heat Warning from Thursday through this coming Sunday.

Dangerously high temperatures will range from 105 to 118 degrees in this span of time.
