Excessive heat is on the way this week

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - It's a hot start to our week with temperatures slightly above normal for our afternoon. Don't forget your sunglasses as we will see lots of sunshine today.

A strong ridge of high pressure will start to develop over the next few days as hotter days are ahead later this week.

We have our first set of excessive heat as we will experience temperatures 110 and higher. There's in Excessive Heat Watch for Wednesday though Sunday evening for the extremely hot temperatures.

With the major warm-up it's important to take precautions and prepare for the hotter temperatures.
