Breezy and windy with near-normal temperatures

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Breezy to windy conditions are in our forecast today with expected strong westerly winds of 15 to 30 MPH.

Temperatures will be slightly cooler than what we felt yesterday with afternoon highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. Temperatures will be near normal as our average is 89 degrees for today.

Stronger winds will develop this afternoon and evening hours, especially in Imperial Valley. There's a Wind Advisory that will go into effect at 1 p.m. this afternoon through 12 a.m. (midnight tonight) for Imperial Valley for expected wind gusts of 40 MPH or over.

With strong winds and dry conditions there's fire potential so make sure to be aware of your surroundings.

Winds will strengthen this evening with expected gusts of 40 MPH or stronger. Blowing dust and sand is possible so make sure to take extra precautions.
