News 11 Weather Authority: Last of the cool days

April 13th, 2022

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The residual cooling effect is about to fade out, along with the passing of the latest strong disturbance that has effected much of the West with Winter-like weather.

For the Desert Southwest, that has equated to higher winds and cooler temperatures that have brought our overall mercury down at least 10 degrees below normal for this time of year.

On this Wednesday, our daytime highs only reached the high 70s with winds at a minimum.

Expect a high pressure ridge from the South to gradually raise our temperatures for the next several days.

Our area might even see daytime highs of the low 90s return before the end of the coming weekend.
