News 11 Weather Authority: 90s emerging

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The strengthening ridge of high pressure continues to lift our overall temperature content.

Daytime highs on Thursday have peaked in the high 80s and even low 90s.

El Centro officially topped off at 90 degrees, while Blythe reached the 91 degree threshold.

The ridge will have an even greater impact on our area through Saturday, where we could elevate to near record high temperatures in the high 90s.

Beyond that, an early Spring potent disturbance will bring brief heavy winds and lower temps; even a significant chance of some light rain showers.
