First Alert Forecast: Excessive heat on the way

Weekend temps expected to reach 109 degrees and higher across the desert southwest

YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - A significant warm-up will begin Saturday and potentially peak during the middle of next week. High temperatures across the lower deserts are forecast to reach 110 degrees by Sunday, then likely  into a 114 to 118 degree range for much of next week. Excessive Heat Warnings are currently in effect across south-central and southwest Arizona, as well as southeast California.
