Floodwaters submerge downtown streets in Indiana

CORYDON, Ind. (CBS, KYMA) - Flash flooding struck the Louisville metropolitan area Tuesday, prompting police to close entrances to the downtown area of one southern Indiana town.

Officials closed all entrances to downtown Corydon Tuesday afternoon as floodwaters rose, turning anyone away who tried to enter, according to local news reports.

The National Weather Service said between five and seven inches of rain had fallen in the area, flooding both in and around the towns of Corydon and Lanesville.

Footage filmed by Jeff Ketterman shows floodwaters submerging the streets of downtown Corydon Tuesday.
