Temperatures dip back into the double digits

KYMA

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - After a long-stretch of triple digits for the month of March, the Desert Southwest should stick below the 100°F threshold Monday.

El Centro is going to flirt with triple digits, with their expected peak temperature to come in at 99°F. Yuma will sit comfortably in the mid 90s at the heat's height.

With that being said, more records are still bound to break Monday. El Centro's current daily record was set in 1990 at 93°F.

In that same year, Yuma also set its daily record at 96°F. We'll have to wait and see if that will remain the case or if it will be cracked Monday.

These temperatures are about 15° above the normal marks for this time of the year.

Nonetheless, the Desert Southwest is officially out of the extreme heat warning we had been dealing with.

Tuesday will roll in with similar conditions to today, but we are currently tracking triple-digits for Wednesday-Friday.
