Snowmobile zooms past Newfoundland homes

(CBS, KYMA) - A snowmobile sped through a residential neighborhood in the town of Paradise, Newfoundland Sunday as local government reported 120 cm (47 inches) of snow had fallen over the course of five days.

Footage posted to X by @NLPhotoLover21 shows piles of snow outside her home in Paradise on Sunday night as a person zoomed by on a snowmobile.

"7 and a half hours later and it's STILL SNOWING," she wrote in a video caption. "I think at this point, a state of emergency really needs to be called."

According to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, thousands of residents on the Avalon Peninsula are experiencing power outages as a result of the severe weather.
