Lake-effect snow blankets town in New York
BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. (CBS, KYMA) - Heavy lake-effect snow continued to blanket swathes of western and central New York Friday into Saturday morning.
Footage captured shows conditions in the town of Baldwinsville, northeast of Syracuse in Onondaga County, where at least 12 inches of snow fell on Friday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
"Some great snowy scenes from the lake effect snow yesterday afternoon in Baldwinsville, NY," a post on X said.
The heaviest snowfall was recorded east of Syracuse in Oneida, which received at least 18 inches of snow, and New Hartford, which saw 19 inches of snow, the NWS said.
They said that the lake-effect snow would end Saturday, but that another round of rain and snow was forecasted for Sunday.
