Temperatures bettering across Desert Southwest
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - It's a calm stretch of weather ahead for Yuma and Imperial Counties, with plenty of sunshine and mild fall temperatures expected through the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, the Desert Southwest will stay dry and quiet over the next several days as high pressure remains in control.
High temperatures will gradually cool from around 90 degrees on Wednesday to the mid-80s by Thursday, offering a slight break from the early November warmth.
Overnight lows will stay comfortable, dipping into the upper 50s to low 60s, with mostly clear skies and light winds continuing each night.
Heading into the weekend, temperatures are expected to climb slightly again, approaching 90 degrees by Sunday or Monday as high pressure builds back in.
No rain is in the forecast for Yuma or Imperial Valley through early next week, but forecasters say a potential change could arrive by late next week, when a new weather system may bring cooler temperatures and possibly some much-needed moisture to the region.
