Cooler days continue before a warm-up next week
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - It's been a cooler stretch across Yuma and Imperial Counties, and that trend will continue through the end of the week before temperatures begin to rebound heading into next week.
According to the National Weather Service, the Desert Southwest remains under a dry and stable weather pattern.
Skies will stay mostly clear through the weekend, with no rain in the forecast and highs continuing to run about five to eight degrees below normal.
Expect afternoon highs in the low to mid-80s across the lower deserts, with morning lows dipping into the 50s for most areas. Light winds and dry air will keep conditions calm and comfortable through Saturday.
By Sunday and Monday, a weak ridge will build over the region, bringing a gradual warming trend. Highs will climb back into the upper 80s, right around normal for mid-October.
There's still some uncertainty looking ahead to the middle of next week as a cutoff low pressure system approaches from the Pacific.
Some weather models show a small chance of light showers over Arizona's higher terrain, though at this point, the Yuma and Imperial Valleys are expected to stay dry.
Overall, it's shaping up to be a pleasant stretch of fall weather cool mornings, sunny afternoons, and no major weather impacts expected for the weekend.
