Dry week ahead for with a midweek cool-down

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Residents in Yuma and Imperial Counties can expect dry conditions through the week with little to no rain chances in the forecast.

Afternoon highs will stay hot early in the week, reaching around 101–105 degrees through Tuesday, before cooling into the upper 90s by Friday.

Wednesday will bring breezier conditions as a Pacific system moves inland. Gusts up to 25 mph are possible during the afternoon, especially across the lower deserts. This same system will knock down temperatures slightly, keeping highs below 100 degrees late in the week.

Rain chances will remain focused well to the east over the Arizona high terrain, leaving Yuma and Imperial Valley dry. Humidity levels will also drop into the teens by midweek, adding to the dry feel in the air.

Looking ahead to the weekend, highs should hover near the upper 90s to around 100 degrees with sunny skies and continued dry weather.
