Clouds and cooler temps continue before heat returns this weekend
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) -Â Cloudy skies and a few light showers will linger across the region Thursday, keeping temperatures slightly below normal.
Some areas may only see a trace of rain, but the thicker cloud cover will help hold daytime highs below the 100-degree mark.
By Friday, conditions begin to dry out with mostly sunny skies returning and highs back above 100 degrees. The warming trend continues into the weekend, with temperatures climbing into the 104-109 degree range by Sunday, bringing back widespread moderate heat risk for the area.
Looking ahead to early next week, the pattern shifts once again as southeast flow reintroduces moisture into the region.
That could bring back isolated storm chances Monday and Tuesday, though confidence remains low on how much activity will reach the lower deserts.
For now, residents should be prepared for hotter days this weekend before the potential for monsoon storms returns next week.
