Thunderstorms sweep across parts of Iowa

(CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A round of thunderstorms downed trees and took out power in eastern Iowa Friday, CBS affiliate KGAN reported.

Cedar Rapids resident Mike Graber posted video on X of strong wind, hail, and rain, lashing against a window.

"Nasty hail and wind," he wrote on X.

By Saturday, forecasters said, "Chances of thunderstorms will continue today…especially for areas of northeastern Iowa" as a Heat Advisory was in effect due to temperatures possibly climbing as high as 105 degrees Fahrenheit (40.5 Celsius).
