Hot and dry conditions staying put heading into rest of week
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Temperatures are climbing once again across Yuma and Imperial Counties, with daytime highs between 108 and 113 degrees expected to continue into next week.
The moderate heat risk remains in effect for the region, with forecasters urging residents to stay cool and hydrated.
Rain chances continue to stay very low, as moisture from the east is struggling to make it into our area.
While some parts of central and eastern Arizona may see isolated storms, Yuma and Imperial Counties are expected to remain dry and mostly clear through the weekend.
Projections show temperatures may cool slightly early next week, but the heat isn't going away. Models continue to suggest a return of even hotter weather by the end of next week, with another ridge building over the Southwest.
Expect hot afternoons, warm nights, and very low humidity through at least Sunday. Winds may pick up slightly in the afternoon, but no major weather concerns are in the forecast for our region.
Stay safe in the heat and keep checking back for the latest updates.
