Hotter than last week and still no relief

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma and Imperial Counties are heating up even more this week, with temperatures now reaching between 108 and 112 degrees.

That's a few degrees hotter than last week, and it's going to stay that way for the next several days.

Nights will cool off a little into the 80s, but it won't be enough to make up for the intense daytime heat. The sun will be out in full force, and skies will stay mostly clear through the week.

Winds will be light, maybe a slight breeze in the afternoons and evenings, but nothing out of the ordinary. No strong gusts or dust problems are expected.

It's still extremely dry. Humidity remains very low, and even though it might rise slightly later in the week, it won't be enough to make a difference.

Fire danger stays elevated just because of how dry and hot everything is.

Bottom line: It's hotter than last week, and the weather isn't offering any relief. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and take it easy out there.
