Winds in Yuma may impact weekend plans for locals

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA ,KECY) - We're all keeping an eye on the weather as it could impact some events happening this weekend.

The gusts are kicked up some dust and freed up loose objects Thursday but the sun was still shining during the day.

A local who is getting ready for the Midnight at the Oasis says he hopes the weather doesn't get in the way of this fun yearly event.

"Everyone is set up for this weekend so nothing can stop it. It's a little windy but the sun is shining, it's a beautiful day. Maybe a little bit dusty but we love cleaning our cars so that's a good thing," shares local Tony Ortiz.

Luckily, winds are expected to taper off and temperatures will be in the 70s through the weekend.
