FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Sweltering temps to arrive throughout the week

A heat watch for both counties in the Desert Southwest is likely on the way, as sunny skies also remain through the area

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - High heat will be hitting the area following the Labor Day holiday, with temperatures expected to get as high as 116 degrees.

Excessive heat watches will also likely be issued from Wednesday to Friday.

Winds are also expected to stay relatively mild.
