YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA,KECY) - The desert southwest is under an extreme heat warning with low humidity and high temperatures which means pets are at a high risk for dehydration and heat exhaustion.

Pet should be given plenty of water and spend some time indoors to be protected from the heat. Temperatures will remain in the low 100's as we approach the beginning of this week.

Mild cloud coverage is expected this week but will clear out by the weekend.
